Meet the Team

	Shawn Hennessy - Head Pastor Prior to Pastoring Roc Shawn served as the District Youth Director of the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God. He was directly responsible for the training and leadership of 287 churches. Shawn also operated in the office of the Evangelist, which enabled him to preach around the world for five years in excess of a thousand times and saw countless thousands of people saved, filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and both physically and emotionally healed. With a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota and a Master of Arts Degree in Theology as well as a Master of Divinity Degree, both from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California Shawn is a firm believer in the importance of education. Shawn believes that his greatest accomplishment is two fold - his amazing marriage to a beautiful Woman of God – Sonny Rose, and being the father of the two greatest children on the planet – Isaiah James – Age 4, and Aubree Rose – Age 3.
	Sonny Hennessy - Executive Pastor Sonny most recently served at the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God in the position of Youth Ministries Coach, where she was responsible for the mentoring process of dozens of Youth Pastors. Sonny also fulfills multiple preaching and leadership training engagements throughout the year. Prior to that, Sonny was the Pastor of H2O Student Church, a ministry that grew from 100 to 400 students in less than 3 months under her leader ship. She also led a second service and life group ministry touching an additional 250 students each week. She rose up and directed a youth staff of 65 ministry volunteers. In 2003 Sonny founded and directed One Accord School of Ministry and remains the director today. Many ministers develope and graduate from this mentoring and college program and hold ministry positions yearly. Current and incoming interns are all seeking their credentials with the AG and Bachelor of Arts degrees through Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
	Jeremy and Julie Gyorke - Student Ministries Directors Having grown up in Michigan, Jeremy was glad to be back in his home state. After graduation from Central Bible College, Jeremy & Julie were married and moved to Ohio to be youth pastors. 6 1/2 years later and two beautiful kids they came to ROC as youth pastors November 2006. You can find Jeremy hanging out at Caribou drinking a smoothie or in a bowling alley coaching or trying to relive glory days. You have to be fast to catch up with Julie. She is busy chasing their two girls around and pastoring middle school students in Crossover Jr. High and elementary school students in ROC Kids. No matter how busy she gets, she always finds time to listen, laugh and love others. Jeremy & Julie love God with all their hearts and love what they do. Spending time with students is an honor and an absolute blast!
	Julie Sexton - Outreach Pastor Julie came on staff at ROC as the Outreach pastor January 2005, and also took the responsibility of our Children’s Ministry for the first half of 2008. Julie is responsible for all areas of Outreach including our Bus Ministry which picks up kids, teens and adults who wouldn't’t normally be able to get to church. She also coordinates outreaches that allow ROC to reach our arms out and touch the surrounding communities.
	Aaron Sexton - Connections Pastor Aaron is a 2003 graduate of Central Bible College in Springfield, MO with a BA in Youth Ministry. However, after graduation God led Aaron down some different paths of ministry. Aaron has done church planting and inner-city children’s ministry (which included driving a full-size bus to pick up children) all while maintaining a full-time secular job. After having met Pastor Julie Sexton and moving to ROC in 2007, God has placed a new vision on Aaron’s heart – connecting people to people. Through his new role as Connections Pastor, Aaron hopes to be able to help people form lifelong relationships and friendships with other people inside and outside the church. Through this ministry, ROC can become a strong, united community of believers able to connect newcomers and new Christians to groups of like interests and assist people to grow in faith, love, service, and influence in our surrounding communities.
	Ron and Christen Brooks - ROC Kids Ron and Christen have been married for 7 years. They have a beautiful daughter, Madisyn. They are both experienced teachers, with a combined 10 years experience. God led them to NC to be youth/children's pastors in 2002. They created 3 week-long VBS programs that took place in Texas and North Carolina. Ron and Christen have participated in and led many Children's Ministry Mission trips to El Salvador, Peru, Ecuador, Europe, and Mexico, including 2 summer internships. Ron and Christen love kids, and love to see kids get excited about learning about God.
	Brian and Erika Hogwood - Crossover Jr. High Pastor, Young Life Center Director Brian and Erika have been married for five years. They have three beautiful children, Hunter, age 5, Genesis, age 2 and Travis, their baby boy. It is a joy for them to work with Pastors Shawn and Sonny Hennessy again and they love this church. Brian is currently heading up Crossover, the Jr. High ministry and Erika works for the church administration as well as the Young Life Center Nursery Coordinator. Together, they make an awesome team!
